One of the most elegant coupes from the 1960s designed by Bertone.
\r
The Alfa Romeo 2600, with its six cylinders, was the top model of the brand from 1962 to 1968, but above all the last model with a very nice six-cylinder in-line engine with double overhead camshafts. This tradition had begun in the latter part of the 1920s with the 6c1500 and 6c1750 and ended after the war with the discontinuation of the 6c2500 model in favor of the development of the more economical 4-cylinder mass production. The range included a sedan version, the Zagato Super Sport coupe, the Touring convertible and the Bertone Sprint coupe. It was this last version, designed by the young Giugiaro, that was the most successful. The heart of the car, its showpiece, was of course the new 6-cylinder alloy engine. However, the high price tag led to limited success despite the model's great qualities. The overall design of the Sprint coupe already predicted that it would become one of the brand's most popular models, the "Bertone coupe".

Offered for auction is this 6-cylinder Alfa Romeo 2600 Sprint in good condition. The unique thing about this vehicle is that it is a fully documented original Dutch copy, delivered in Leidschendam by Louwman & Paqui on May 8, 1967. Both the interior and the exterior are in neat, used condition. This copy was completely repainted in the past (quality 7/10) , in its original color Bianco Antico. Equipped with a dark blue leather interior, which has recently been refurbished while retaining the original patina. The vehicle has had a total of three owners - in the Netherlands - and has been driven and lovingly maintained to this day.
\r
The last major invoices date from 2022 with a mileage of 59,000 km, among other things, the cooling system was upgraded, gearbox rubber was renewed, new rear brake hose, clutch master cylinder was replaced, new thermostat, new water hoses, new cooling block was installed for the radiator, spark plugs were replaced, ignition coil cable was replaced, the front suspension fully adjusted and lubricated, major maintenance carried out, the distributor cap and rotor were replaced and the carburettors were overhauled, after which a power measurement was carried out with the result being 132. 5 HP; which is good for today, as it was in the brochure with 144 HP. The invoices from the past two years added together total about EUR. 10,000. 00 incl. VAT.
