Patinated bronze sculpture "La Faneuse" Signed Alfred Boucher Height: 33 cm Late 19th/early 20th century Very nice bronze with brown patina in very good condition representing "La Faneuse" a young woman in clogs, at rest leaning on her fork during haymaking, it rests on a circular base signed on the terrace A Boucher and marked Siot Paris at the back. Alfred Boucher (1850-1934) was a French sculptor who joined the School of Fine Arts in 1869 (a pupil of Dubois) . He worked in Rome and Paris, and this sculpture is probably the one entitled 'Aux champs', which was exhibited at the Salon in 1897. All his works are characterized by their naturalism, (Art nouveau current) he created the home ‘La Ruche’ in 1902 where so many great artists went. . .
