Alfredo Alcala (1925-2000)
Alfredo Alcala Holiday #375 "Anaconda" Double Page Spread 1-2 Original Art (Gasi, 1976). Shortly after crafting this Anaconda story for Holiday #375, Alfredo Alcala's migration to the US positioned this story among his final works for a Filipino publisher. On this masterfully crafted double-page semi-splash, Queen Anaconda calls forth her legions of snakes to offer her protection. Rendered in ink and white paint over graphite on conjoined Bristol boards with a combined image area of 22" x 16.5". The boards are toned with page creases up the center. There are corner folds on the left side, three half-inch tears along the left edge, whiteout art corrections, a half-inch piece out of the bottom center edge, stripped-in text correction on Page 2, and handling wear. In Very Good condition. HID09710052018 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
