Alice Davis Original Artwork Group of 3 (Walt Disney, c. 1950s). This lot offers three rare original artistic pieces done by Alice Estes (Davis) (1929 – 2022), granting us a privileged perspective into her courting of his future husband and fellow Disney Legend, Marc Davis (1913 – 2000). Titled in the front cover Tips For: Marc Davis During His New York Travels, the charming little hand-made booklet (7.5" x 9.75") created by Alice features 13 pages of illustrated pointers offered to Marc for his visit to New York, featuring whimsical characters created by Alice, called Ugnies. This ribbon-bound booklet, dated 10-15-55, on the top right corner of the first page, has "A.M.E. + Co." (Alice May Estes) in the bottom right corner of the back cover. The lot also features an endearing 15" x 10.75" hand-drawn currency, dated 10-17-1954, payable to Mr. Marc D. Davis "for trust and kindness to his fellow man beyond the call of duty," listing A.M. Estes as the secretary of the Estes Treasury. Featuring one of Alice's signature angles, the lot features a gorgeous 9" x 12" x 0.75" hand-painted tray that reads "Happy Happy Birthday" on a ribbon over the angel and "And many, many more! Alice" on the back. The tray shows minor small chips on the edges. The currency piece shows fold creases. The lot overall shows light handling and edge wear. In Very Good condition. From the Disney Legend Inductees Marc and Alice Davis Archive. HID09710052018 © 2024 Heritage Auctions | All Rights Reserved
