Alice Davis Sketchbook with Framed Sketch, Woodblock Print, and Personal copy of Are Clothes Modern? (Walt Disney, c. 1930-1970s). Presented in this lot is a group of rare items from the collection of Disney Legend Alice Davis (1929 – 2022). Included in this lot is a wonderful sketchbook (11" x 14") that shows 10 pages of her personal artwork done in graphite, with the last dated 3-23-75; her copy of the 1947 book Are Clothes Modern (8.75" x 11.25") by Paul Theobald is signed on the back of the front cover with her maiden name, "Alice M. Estes;" a Conte crayon drawing of a bearded man with a hat (2" x 4") on a glass-fronted frame (5.25" x 6.25"), inscribed on the back "age 5 years," dating this drawing to 1934; and a beautiful woodblock print of two angels done by Alice (2.25" x 4.25") on a Plexiglas-fronted frame(10.75" x 12.75"). All frames are sold as-is. Photos are not representative of actual frame condition. The sketchbook shows wear on the spine and edges, with age-related toning on the pages. Significant wear can be seen on the book's dust jacket, with tears, wrinkles, and pieces missing, with the book itself presenting light edge wear. The Conte crayon sketch shows age-related toning.
