Unique woven artwork from the collection Fringes&Floats, framed on a 6 mm multiplex. This artwork is a sample. All profits of this auction will go to the development of our Fringes & Floats collection. The rich range of surfaces is the outcome of a research project which explores the possibilities of 3D weaving technology, collaborating with EE Exclusives. A+N have been experimenting on jacquard machines to stretch the technical possibilities of each product. By applying special techniques, three dimensional surfaces are created that engage and trigger the senses, bringing a much-needed softness into the lives of our daily spaces. For A+N, this process is the ideal combination of craftsmanship and leading-edge technologies, and all the while using yarns that are made from recycled post-consumer PET (New Life yarns) . A+N say it best, 'The beautiful thing is that you can discover every individual yarn the more you zoom in. The patterns that we have designed really reveal and pay tribute to the (high-tech) production process. ' A+N is a material research and design studio founded by Alissa van Asseldonk and Nienke Bongers (Eindhoven, NL) in 2014, after having met at Design Academy Eindhoven. They design and create signature walls and innovative surfaces, enriching environments and enhancing the well being of people. They stand for high quality pieces that add value to a space. Working with both craftsmen and high-tech industry, we design innovative materials, objects and installations for (future) interior architecture, that trigger curiosity and interaction while speaking to the senses.
