Exceptional Late 19th century, Meiji period, Japan. Very large Kyozukue (sutra table) . Of very great finesse and quality, this altar was used by Buddhists to read passages from the Sutras, the Sanskrit precepts (teaching texts) . 68 cm long, it is completely covered with gold leaf under black lacquer.
