Caliber 8x57JS, No. 4353, serial number does not match. Matte-finished barrel, length 74 cm. German proof mark from 1972. Cartridge case marked “Halbmond,” “Z,” “S” / crown / “Amberg / 1898.” On the left side of the guide: “Gew.88 / n.m.” Turkish-style lock and sight. Unit stamp on the upper ring: “77.R.8. 43.” Barrel jacket and magazine box with refreshed bluing. Dark walnut stock in good condition, complete with sling swivels, magazine cover, and cleaning rod. On the butt plate is the stamp “11 K” (= repair mark from a weapons collection center). See Dieter Storz, “German Military Rifles, Firearms 88 and 91.” Length 124 cm.
