Ambrotype of Armed Union Soldier & Wife

Sixth plate sized ruby ambrotype of an unidentified Union soldier brandishing a large revolver while seated close to a woman, likely his wife. The determined soldier wears a hat of a style often associated with Ohio troops. Images of soldiers with their female loved ones are not uncommon, but images of armed soldiers with their female loved ones are both rare and very desirable. Condition is fine. A clear image with strong contrast. Image is housed in a full leatherette case.
