American Brilliant Cut Glass Pedestal Punch Bowl. The tulip shaped bowl with scalloped, sawtooth edge, over foliate and herringbone, alternating with optic and plain hobstars in circles. The ring of the flaring stand cut on the diagonal. Circa 1925. {Approximate Measurements: 8 1/2" H. x 14" Diameter, the bowl. 15 1/2" H. x 14" Diameter overall.}. Provenance: Gifted by Theodore Edward Thal (1899-1978), OSU graduate and American Brilliant Cut Glass collector. Mr. Thal was an inventor and innovator in the fiberglass business. Condition: A few shallow chips, nicks toward lower side of bowl. Minor scratching and rubbing to bowl underside from contact with stand ring.
