American Civil War Union Soldier Letter
Vintage Civil War letter sent by Jonathan G. Bort to his "sweet heart" Amelia S. Webb. Dated August 5th, 1862. Bort served in the Union Army in the American Civil War, and wrote back to Amelia how he was recovering in the hospital. Letter is framed with a transcription and two pictures of a Union soldier and various artifacts from the Civil War. Frame has clear plexiglass backing where the reverse of the letter can be read. Letter is worn but readable. Has folds. Exterior of frame is in good condition, but could be redone. Letter is 8" by 10".
