American Federal Mahogany Cellarette
American Federal Mahogany Cellarette in the Sheraton Taste
first quarter 19th century, probably Boston, the face and lift-top with line inlay, the top opening to reveal a divided interior, raised on reeded legs on brass cups, the bottom constructed of white pine.
h. 27", w. 18", d. 17"

Condition Report: In good "as found" condition. The piece exhibits normal mars, abrasions, shrinkage and indications of age and use. There is a filled shrinkage crack in the top. There is a small chip/loss to a corner of the top's front vertical surface. Lock-set present; no key. The interior is now lined in later baize.
