American Hilted Broad Sword.
Long, tapered, double edged blade with three partial fullers on each side and faceted faces. Blade is German with Latin inscriptions which translates to "Do not draw me without reason" on one side and "Or sheath me without honor" on the other side. Brass hilt, probably American with three branch guard and bird's head pommel with integral backstrap. The wooden grip is decorated with twisted copper wire. CONDITION: Blade retains a grey patina with bottom half retaining a darker patina. Inscription on blade is excellent. Hilt retains a dark patina and grip shows some scattered marks from use and some loose areas of wire. Blade Length: 38" Overall Length: 42 - 1/4" Condition: Dimensions:
