Approximately 116 pieces total of various makes, sizes, and decoration. Lot is comprised of mostly Southern and Midwestern examples. Five with engraved name and/or monogram by W.H. Talbott & Co. (Indianapolis, 1855-65), John Kitts and Joseph Werne (Louisville, 1864-78), William Wilson McGrew (Cincinnati, c. 1859), William R. Evans (Cincinnati, 1844-48 and Covington, 1849-60), and Clemens Oscamp (Cincinnati, 1853-87).
All marked. 92 ozt.
Condition Report: Many examples are from Ohio, specifically Cincinnati, and Kentucky. Some various makers include Hyppolite Prouhet of Union, Harting & Kroesing of Lexington, Nathan Lord Hazen of Cincinnati, Emile Profilet of New Orleans, Hiram Baxter Bascom of St. Louis, William Williams Cary of Alton and Thomas G. Calvert of Lexington. Varying wear and dents commensurate with age and use. Some examples with considerably more wear. Most examples monogrammed. Several sterling silver examples.
