second quarter 19th century, the segmented posts with acorn finials over octagonal, vasiform and square sections on turned legs, the headboard with an octagonal top rail over an oval panel, fitted with a mahogany tester with rods and drop finials fronting drapery rods.

Condition Report: In very good refinished and restored condition. The surface exhibits minor wear, shrinkage and mars. from age and use. The assembled bedstead is very solid, with absolutely no movement observed at the juncture of the pots and rails. The rails lack an attached batten on the inside to support mattress slats. The tester frame may be associated. It is joined with metal L-brackets that may require additional screws to be adequately tight. The internal measurements between the rails are 84" long and 66 1/2" wide. A modern queen size mattress is about 80" long and 60" wide.
