American Pine Traveling Trunk , late 19th c., domed strapwork top, hinged closure, metal latches, bale handles, h. 15 1/2 in., d. 48 in., d. 20 1/4 in. Provenance: Reputedly with Magdelena Boehm, grandmother of New Orleans artist Marie Madeline Seebold (1866-1948) ; descended through the Seebold family to present owner. Condition: Structurally sound. Some strapwork hinges are loose. Several shrinkages. Metal parts are oxidized. Scattered wear, marks, and imperfections expected with age and use. AS IS IMPORTANT: All purchases must be removed from our premises within 15 days of the auction.
