A pair of American School portraits, second quarter 19th century, executed in an academic manner.ÿ Each seated in plain background on red chair with exposed nailheads; each 30" x 24" (sight), housed in period gilt and gesso frames (43" x 37").
Provenance: portraits were inherited by the consignor whose family came from from Wiscasset, Maine.
Condition Report: Each work has been cared for, previously cleaned, and remain in a fine state of preservation.ÿ The frames are in a restored state, with a few minor nicks and losses to gesso.
