American Yellowware & Stoneware Bowls

A collection of four American utilitarian ceramic mixing bowls, including three pieces of yellowware and one molded stoneware bowl. The first yellowware bowl features a tapered form with a heavy, thickened rim and is decorated with a multi-striped band consisting of a central wide white stripe flanked by thin brown lines. The interior displays a mottled yellow glaze finish. Two smaller matching yellowware bowls feature a slightly flared rim and are decorated with a pair of dark brown horizontal bands around the mid-section. The final piece is a blue and white molded stoneware bowl with a flared rim, featuring a relief-molded pattern around the exterior. The rim is highlighted with a cobalt blue wash, while the interior is finished in a light gray salt-glaze with characteristic dark speckling throughout. All bowls are unmarked; the undersides show unglazed foot rings or textured bases without legible maker stamps, signatures, or printed marks.
