Amethyst Scepter Chiredzi mining district, Chiredzi District, Masvingo, Zimbabwe 9.0 x 2.0 x 1.5 cm (3.54 x 0.78 x 0.59 in) Several factors define an exceptional Amethyst scepter, including color, gemminess, and locality, all of which are well represented in this specimen. Originating from a private family mine near the famed Chibuku Mine in Zimbabwe, it comes from one of the world's premier districts for fine Amethyst scepters. The scepter measures 9.0 centimeters in length and features a colorless Quartz stem with an interior that ranges from transparent to milky. The stem displays a combination of clear, heavily striated faces and partially frosted surfaces that create an appealing variation in texture. Crowning the crystal is a well-defined scepter cap highlighted by deep purple Amethyst phantoms and accented with zones of Smoky Quartz that add depth and complexity to the termination.
