An 1830s gold mourning pendant, the panel with scrolled foliate decoration, centred with an onyx panel carved with a forget-me-not, with two step cut ruby accents, inscribed to the reverse Eliz Sarah Tickner died July 25. 1830 aged 38., 3.7cm long, suspended from a later ropetwist chain, 6.4g gross; together with an early Victorian daguerreotype swivel brooch, the oval daguerreotype of a moustached gentleman in dress clothes, glazed compartment verso, within a gold scrolled foliate setting, 6.7cm long, 36g gross; together with a rolled gold black enamelled seed pearl and white paste forget-me-not mourning brooch, with a glazed compartment verso, 4.2cm long; and a late Victorian swivel photo brooch, circa 1890, with a scrolled gold setting, 5.2cm long
Condition Report:
Elizabeth Sarah Tickner was buried at St Michael and all Angels, Thursley Surrey on the 30th July 1830. The pendant has been converted from a brooch, showing some signs of wear commensurate with age and use.
Daguerreotype some damage to the image, the setting has some wear commensurate with age and use. Lower carat gold, the setting is hollow
Forget me not brooch- base metal coming through around the edges
Photo brooch- missing pin, general wear commensurate with age and use. lower carat gold
