An 18th century Irish silver rococo coffee pot
John St John, Dublin, circa 1765
Baluster form, profusely chased with trailing foliate decoration running down the body between slender incurved flutes, cartouche to the side engraved with crest and motto of the GROGAN family, circular spreading foot and hinged cover similarly decorated, fixed finial, the dragon head spout further embellished below with a main and scales and fan motifs either side forming the wings, ebonised wood handle, height 30cm, weight total 33.3oz.
