An Afghan nielloed silver mounted pesh kabz, dated 1915
Curved blade of fine wootz Damascus steel with reinforced edges, T-shaped back and floral iron chiselling at the base on both sides. Multi-part hilt of florally nielloed silver. The leather-covered and silver-mounted wood scabbard en suite with the hilt, florally nielloed on both sides. On the obverse locket an Afghan emblem with the date “1333” (=1915), on the reverse a silver suspension ring. Length 29 cm.
