Rectangular case engraved with 'Lydia J. Hunn' to the lid, hinged to reveal a velvet-lined interior fitted with a sewing kit comprising a pair of scissors with protective lid, etui, thimble, finger guard, awl, bodkin, and gilt-metal mounted blue glass scent bottle; several pieces engraved 'Lydia J. Hunn' or 'L.J. Hunn,' the thimble additionally engraved '1839,' the etui engraved 'Mary B. Sharpless' and 'T&M.'

Condition report:

The tortoiseshell case with scratches and cracks, as expected with age; some lifting and chips/losses to tortoiseshell at corners. Functional push hasp. The velvet lining intact and relatively plush, though shows signs of age with use. Tools with light signs of wear, all appear to be in functional, good condition; the etui nonconforming. The bottom wood panel with cracks and losses to paint.
