An Amethyst and Diamond Brooch/Pendant, circa 1900 a rectangular cushion cut amethyst in a yellow millegrain setting, bordered by a stylised ribbon and bow design, set throughout with old cut diamonds in white grain settings, suspending a pear cut amethyst surmounted by a bow motif similarly set, with a diamond set bale, total estimated diamond weight 0.70 carats approximately measures 5.7cm by 3.5cm
The brooch/pendant is in good condition, with minor chips/nibbles to some of the diamonds commensurate with age. It fastens with a pin and c-hook catch, which is detachable by a screw fitting, the bale is also detachable and the loop is hinged to be folded away. It bears no hallmark nor stamp but in our opinion it would test as gold. The amethysts measure; 15.82mm x 11.50mm x 6.25mm approximately, and 14.59mm x 8.80mm x 4.87mm approximately. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour I/J/K, clarity SI2/I1/I2. Gross weight 9.34 grams. CR made 13.08.26.
