An Ancient Luristan Bronze Barbed Arrowhead, Circa 1200-600 BCE, 12AG
Cast bronze projectile head with an ovate blade tapering to a pointed tip, flanked by two elongated barbs at the blade base to prevent withdrawal after impact. A long, slender integral tang extends rearward, designed for attachment to a wooden arrow shaft. A subtle central midrib runs along the blade's axis to improve structural rigidity and create two symmetrical facets. The surface is covered in mottled green burial patina formed over centuries of underground interment, with the original cast outlines of the blade, barbs and tang remaining legible beneath the corrosion layers. Dimensions: 16.5 x 2.3 cm.
