An Anotolian carpet

An Anotolian carpet, with all over design, approximately 1012cm x 538cm Provenance: Berwick House, ShropshireCondition Report: Wear, tears, losses, discolourations, and fading to carpet throughout. Wear reveals underlying stands in areas throughout. Various old losses and holes to pile (some losses possibly form old moth damage). Multiple significant tears and sections of loss to borders.Some old stitched repairs. Some sections of pile re-woven. Fringing is totally lacking to one end. Remnants of later fabric applied to help secure edge. The fringing at the other end with significant wear, fraying and losses that encroach into the guard stripe. This edge has been secured with later thread and strips of canvas. Binding to longest edges are very untidy with significant losses, fraying and wear. Some patches of canvas have been applied to the underside of the carpet to help secure pile.Please refer to catalogue and additional image for visual reference to condition.
