Up for sale is a unique and magnificent large hand painted ceramic or majolica urn. I estimate that this item might have been made in the early 19th Century. The urn is fully marked but I could not find the maker. It is truly a large and unique item. The urn is made of four pieces: 1) a base; 2) a stand; 3) the main body of the urn; and 4) a cover. On each side, there are faces of fauns (?). The paintings on the urn are delicate and well defined flower bouquets. This is truly a very rare item that you will not easily find. The fine details demonstrate the mastery of the creator of this item. This is truly an opportunity for the serious collector of European art.
