An Art Deco Diamond Double Clip Brooch of scroll design,...
An Art Deco Diamond Double Clip Brooch of scroll design, set throughout with round brilliant cut, eight-cut and baguette cut diamonds, in white claw settings, total estimated diamond weight 5.50 carat approximately measures 7cm by 2.5cm NB: two diamonds deficient, only one present.
The brooch is in fair condition, there are two diamonds deficient, only one is present, there is also some discolouration to the metal in a similar area and the trombone catch is detached. It bears no hallmark nor stamp but in our opinion would test as platinum. The clips attach to the frame with double pin fittings, which are in working order but the hinges are slightly loose. There is an additional bar to allow the clips to be worn as a brooch, the trombone catch is detached, but present. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour H/I/J, clarity SI2/I1/I2. Gross weight 26.86 grams. CR made 07.08.26. A Condition Report is an honest expression of our opinion, not a statement of fact and is provided as a service to the Seller. All lots are available on public view ahead of an auction and we encourage people to see an item in person when possible. Our Condition Reports are not prepared by professional conservators, restorers or engineers, and are prepared with the naked eye unless otherwise stated. Works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. We accept no liability for the opinions expressed in any Condition Report. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
