Henri Vever was born into a family of fine jewelry artisans. He began training under his father at their family business, Maison Vever. He furthered his education by attending the L'Ecole de Arts Decoratifs and Ecole Nationale de Beaux-Arts where he studied drawing, modeling and ornamental design. He exhibited at the Paris International Exposition for the first time with his brother in 1889 and won two Grand Prizes for gemset jewelry. From that point on, the firm's reputation for fine gemset jewelry continued to grow. Vever is best known for his Art Nouveau jewelry.
