An Austrian Egyptian Revival 14k gold enamel diamond ruby and amethyst winged scarab brooch.
Egyptian Revival design with finely chased Uraeus serpents, decorated with filigree wire and polychrome émail cloissonné. Set with small rose-cut diamonds, natural rubies and a scarab made from an amethyst cabochon carved on all sides (12.4 x 9.8 mm). Hallmarks: Vienna assay mark and hallmark for 585 gold, maker's mark "JIG" in an octagon. With small old repairs to the reverse. W 5.0 cm. Weight 10.02 g.
