Straight single edged blade with fuller on both sides, engraved on either side with the Hapsburg eagle and crown (partly rubbed), one side deeply stamped No 2, probably a a regimental marking. Spine marked 66?. Steel hilt of standard pattern, pronounced quillon finial marked "8". Leather-wrapped grip. Heavy scabbard of iron over wood, inner rim of scabbard stamped IIV. Austria, late 18th century, length 106 cm. Grey metal showing areas of pitting overall. Condition 2
