Description: An Early 18th Century Sycamore Salt, with a wide shallow circular bowl over a plain stem and stepped spreading foot, 3¼'' (8 cm) high, 3½'' (9 cm) in diameter. Also an early 19th Century sycamore salt turned with a single line to the outside of the shallow circular bowl, above a short stem and circular foot turned with two incised lines on top. The underside of the slightly concave foot having a central chuck hole and displaying fine pole lathe turned lines, 2 3/8 '' (6 cm) high, 2 3/8 '' (6 cm) diameter. (For similar pieces see J Levi ''Treen for Table'' plates 6/7 which are attributed to the early 18th Century period due to similar shapes seen in pewter).
