An Eastern European sword, Hungarian period, 10th - 11th centuryMinimally curved blade, mostly blunt on the back and only double-edged in front of the tip (approx. 16 cm). Upper section of the blade approx. 28 mm wide, with approx. 12 cm wide bevel. 10.7 cm long tang, minimally curved in the opposite direction to the blade, with a groove along the length on one side and a rivet hole in the lower part. 8 cm wide, slightly curved crossguard, on the front side with a roof-shaped profile and four-faceted, diamond-shaped elevation, round knobs at the ends; flat on the back. Total length 82.3 cm. Minimal rust scars and chips on the blade. Extremely well-preserved, professionally restored, desalinated and stabilized iron sword.Provenance: South German private collection.Condition: II
