An Edwardian silver three piece bachelor tea service, comprising teapot, twin-handled sugar bowl and cream jug, each of oblong form with gadroon rims and ornately embossed with flowers and foliate scrolls surrounding twin opposed cartouches with personal engravings, teapot with wood handle and finial. Hallmarked Birmingham 1904, maker's mark partly worn, Length of teapot measuring 9 1/4 inches (23.5 cm), gross weight 18.57 ozt (577.5 grams). All three pieces displaying some tarnishing and surface wear, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. The personal engravings are very worn. Residues of polish visible mainly to decorated areas. Some visible seam lines with small repairs. Fairly large dent to teapot and a knock to the foot rim of the sugar bowl causing slight compression. Further minor surface bumps. The teapot lid closes flush although the hinges are a little loose with some sideways movement. The wood finial and handle are quite worn and handle has slight movement. Maker's marks are very worn, letter B is visible. Hallmarks also well rubbed but still legible.
