An Egyptian Carnelian Ring, New Kingdom, 1540-1075 B.C
with rounded hoop, the convex bezel carved in the form of a pair of Eyes of Horus with finely-engraved detail, linear and chevron ornament on the shoulders.

Very good, as shown and wearable. Some remains of encrustation on the underside of the bezel, otherwise thoroughly cleaned. Very minor nicks and scratches at the edge of the loop. Ring size UK L, US 6.

The bezel of a similar ring is in the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (36.514, excavated by Flinders Petrie at Amarna in 1891-1892), depicting however one eye rather than two.
