An Egyptian marble cosmetic vessel, Old Kingdom, c. 2686 - 2181 BC, the body ovoid with flattened bottom, the neck is narrow with wide mouth and flattened rim. The interior is well hollowed, and the vessel is fashioned from attractive creme colored stone. 3 x 2 1/2 in (7.6 x 6.4 cm). Light deposits. Ex German private family collection acquired prior to 1980.
