An Egyptian steatite scarab, Late Period
An Egyptian steatite scarab, Late Period, c. 664 - 332 BC, the body well-carved with deeply cut legs. On base a name 'Men-Kheper' oriented upside down within a cartouche between feather, a winged solar disk at bottom. 17 x 13 mm. Holed lengthwise for suspension. Ex collection of Gustave Mustaki, Alexandria, acquired in the mid-1900's.
