An Egyptian stone scarab & scaraboid
An Egyptian stone scarab & scaraboid. The first is an Egyptian black stone scarab, Late Period, c. 664 - 30 BC, with carved details and flat base. 28 x 24 mm. Light deposits. The second is an Egyptian steatite scaraboid, New kingdom, c. 1570 - 1075 BC, the backside domed and smooth, on the base, a standing goose with a double crown before. 17 x 10 mm. Drilled lengthwise for suspension. Ex Peter Cheremisinoff collection, NJ.
