An Egyptian terracotta funerary cone for Amenemope, New Kingdom, 1570 - 1075 BC, the face with an inscription in relief reading 'Chief bowman, overseer of hunter, Amenemope'. Some weathering of the face, but remnants of pigment remains beneath light deposits. L: 6 3/4 in (17.2 cm). Cf. Davies - Macadam no. 304; Daressy 142 for the type. Ex collection of a Manhattan, New York professor, acquired in the 1970's.
