An Empire Faux Grain Armchair
early 19th century
the curved crest rail above the cushion seat within downswept arms, the seat rail carved to show paterae, the square tapering legs carved to show palmettes and ending in casters.
Height 36 inches.
Width 22 1/4 inches.
In good, stable, usable condition. Later caning is intact and tight. Finish fairly even throughout but with some areas of wear and distress to the faux finish. Later cushion likewise intact. Gilt decoration bright.
