The first with sharply tapering double-edged small-sword blade (worn and rust patinated), hilt comprising gilt-copper ovoidal guard with border pierced and chased with running foliage, recurved lobe-shaped quillons cast and chased with rocailles, gilt-copper pommel-cap with chased border and turned button, and green-stained ivory grip of tapering octagonal section; the second with Spanish 17th century rapier blade of tapering flattened hexagonal section, the fuller along the forte on both sides stamped respectively 'SEBASTIAN' and 'ERNANDEZ' between cross and orb marks, hilt with steel faceted tapering quillons, threaded bun-shaped pommel, and vertically reeded dark horn grip (2)
