An Exceptional Victorian Tazza or Table Centerpiece- .925 silver - Alexander Macrae, London - England - 1869

An excellent sterling silver tazza or footed bowl, standing 20½cm tall and weiging over 1Kg, very finely repoussé decorated with foliage, fruits and flowers, the reticulated stem and wide base similarly decorated to a high degree of detail. Stamped to the rim and foot rim with assay marks for London, makers mark AM for Alexander Macrae, and date letter N for 1868. The upper part is stamped with date letter O for 1869, indicating that the silversmith started the piece in 1868 and finished in 1869. This is silver work of the highest quality.
