The black leather skull with all gilt and silver fittings, black cloth trencher top, original gilt-metal bullion rosette bearing 'GVR' cypher, black leather plume with gilt-metal plume-holder, velvet-lined gilt-metal chinchain on lion-mask supports, complete with its linings, and in exceptional original condition: each in its original japanned carrying tin, the first with brass plate engraved 'J.E.R. ALLEN 16TH THE QUEENS LANCERS' (2)
J.E. Russel Allen was 2nd Lieutenant on 19 January 1912 and was promoted to Lieutenant in 1916. He died of wounds received during the German spring offensive on 8 April 1918
