A painted icon of the Akhtyrskaya Theotokos, Mother of God, her garment beaded embroidered red velvet, a beaded oklad to the crucifixion, with an ornate foil liner in a rectangular shadowbox frame/kiot; 13 3/4" x 11 7/8" x 3 3/4". Condition: the glass missing, replaced with plastic; a corner of the foil on the removable piece has come detached; the kiot with scattered wormholes and wear commensurate with age.
