An icon of the Dormition of the Theotokos, the Mother of God, painted on wood, with beaded and faux jeweled shroud, a white-painted foil dove, and altar cloths of beaded trimmed red velvet, with ornate foil liner in a scalloped shadowbox frame/kiot; 11 3/4" x 14" x 3 1/2". Condition: the glass missing, replaced with plastic; scattered wormholes to kiot and wear commensurate with age. Provenance: Private Collection, Northern California.
