An Inca Star-shaped Mace Head Peru, 1400-1550 AD Star-shaped mace head with six spokes. In addition to bronze (copper-tin alloy), the Inca experimented with other metals. Here the mace head is composed of solid copper-silver alloy. The star shape is characteristic of the ancient Inca. In excellent condition. The silver has an attractive sheen and the mace is quite heavy, solid. Provenance: Private Collection, New York Acquired by the current collection in 1993 James Economos Works of Art, Santa Fe, NM B.
