An Iraqi silver mounted jambiya, circa 1900
Double-edged blade, curved, with two fullers on each side. horn hilt of waisted form, flaring into a broad pommel. Repair to the pommel. Wooden scabbard covered in repoussé silver. The upper face of the obverse decorated with three bands set with turquoise (several missing stones), below mounted with a crescent and a Star in brass. Chape in nickel silver. Length 41.5 cm.
