Late 16th Century/17th Century
With slender tapering recurved steel bow (replaced) retained by a steel bracket on each side, architecturally arched folding back-sight and later fore-sight pillars, fruitwood tiller of tapering rectangular section with curved neck (repaired with a riveted plate on either side at the front), the latter carved with moulded lines on each side in front of the gaffle, and with a large pierced scroll on the top, hinged gaffle retained by a chiselled cartouche-shaped plate on each side, turned baluster ivory terminal of part octagonal section, and curved trigger-lever of tapering circular section with small bud-shaped terminal
