An Italian Walnut Commode

circa 1840
in the Louis Philippe taste, having a rectangular top above a frieze drawer and three long drawers with ring pulls, raised on a bracket base.
Height 41 x width 51 x depth 24 1/2 inches.

Upper drawers open easily; bottom drawer is slightly more resistant to opening. Attractive, steady condition overall. Lightly rippled veneer and unevenness to the top. Age cracks to the sides. Light scratches and surface wear consistent with age. Older but not original finish. Locks and lock plates replaced, work with key. Additional images available upon request.
