This model is thought to be a copy of the head of Menelaus of the Pasquino Group which is a Renaissance marble copy of a Hellenistic bronze original dating to circa 200–150 B.C.E. The marble version is in the Loggia dei Lanzi, Florence.
Condition Report: With an overall dark brown patina with shiny surface. Possibly repatinated. General marks, scratches, rubbing and wear.
